A smarter starting point
for every path forward.

Design apps & AI tools
Apps built on 2D photos are a wonderful first step for inspiration — and they stop there. They can't account for your actual terrain, your soil chemistry, your sun exposure, or how that beautiful hedge performs in the shade of a 60-foot cedar. When you're ready to move from mood board to plan, you need something grounded in your specific yard.
Great for inspiration
Install crews
Install crews are the essential partners who bring a garden to life. Hyoon gives them something they rarely have: a precise 3D terrain model, a vetted plant list, and a fully specified design — before they ever come out to bid. Better information means better bids, fewer surprises, and installations that match what the homeowner actually envisioned.
We work with them
Landscape architects
Professional landscape architects bring deep expertise and licensure that is necessary for fully-managed projects with complex construction considerations. Hyoon serves a different moment: the homeowner who wants an intelligent site design that they can manage independently, either as a DIY scenario or by hiring an install crew.
A different scope
There's a fourth option.
And it didn't exist until now.

The same scanning and modeling technology that architects use on public parks and development sites — LiDAR terrain capture, 3D environmental modeling, plant selection informed by ecological data — applied to your backyard. At a price designed for individual homeowners who want to make genuinely informed decisions about their outdoor spaces.

Your actual yard Every slope, drainage path, sun angle, and shade zone. Captured with millimeter precision, not estimated from a photo.
Native plants that actually grow here Every species cross-referenced against your soil conditions, your light exposure, and what's actually available at local nurseries.
See it across time Year 1. Year 5. Year 10. Spring. Fall. The same design, multiple moments — before anything goes in the ground.
Yours to use however you like DIY it over three seasons. Hand it to a crew. Take it to a nursery one plant at a time. No commitment required beyond the design fee.
The Process

Simple. Four steps. No disruption.

You unlock the gate. We bring everything else — the equipment, the expertise, and the process.

01
You tell us about your yard
A short intake form — style preferences, functional goals, plants you love, areas that aren't working. Takes 10 minutes. We fill it out together or you do it in advance.
Before the visit
02
We scan your property
A handheld LiDAR scanner walks your exterior for 45–60 minutes and captures millions of precise data points — every slope, canopy, drainage path, and existing structure. We also collect soil samples if you've added testing.
45–60 min on-site
03
We design your space
The scan becomes a precise 3D terrain model. We run environmental analysis, generate a plant brief calibrated to your specific conditions, and build your design concepts in RhinoLands — then render the final walkthroughs in TwinMotion.
Processing & design
04
You receive your design package
A polished design document with photorealistic walkthroughs, seasonal renders, growth projections, plant lists cross-referenced to local nursery inventory, and phasing notes. Yours to keep and use however you like, on whatever timeline makes sense.

The Deliverable

Everything in one document.
Fully executable from day one.

Site Intelligence Report
Your yard, precisely understood
Sun and shade zones across your property, terrain analysis, drainage patterns, microclimate notes, and existing vegetation documented. This is what every design decision rests on — not a site visit impression, a metrically accurate data model.
1 or 3 Design Concepts
Distinct visions, one yard
Each concept takes a different aesthetic direction — naturalistic, structured, eclectic, Japanese-influenced — all anchored in PNW-native plants appropriate to your specific conditions. Three directions help you discover what you actually want. One is the confident starting point.
TwinMotion Walkthroughs
Photorealistic · Seasonal · Time-lapse growth
Walk through your designed yard in real time. See it in spring bloom and fall color. Compare Year 1 to Year 10. This is the thing that doesn't exist anywhere else at this price point — and it's the clearest possible answer to "what will this actually look like."
Plant List + Nursery Links
Ready to buy the day it arrives
Every plant named with common name, Latin name, mature size, water needs, and why it was chosen for your yard's specific conditions. Cross-referenced against local Kitsap and PNW nursery inventory so you know exactly where to get each one.
Implementation + Phasing Notes
Your timeline, your pace
Suggestions for what to plant first, what can wait, how the design builds across seasons. You are not obligated to do everything at once — and the document reflects that. Plant three things this fall. Add the hedge next spring. Take five years if you want.
Soil Testing (add-on)
$75 per sample · 5–7 samples per yard
Professional soil analysis across your property's distinct zones. pH, nutrient levels, drainage class. Results directly influence the plant selection — not as a general guideline, but as a hard constraint. Worth adding if you're serious about execution.
The design document is yours outright. No recurring fees, no subscription, no follow-up purchase required. Hand it to a landscaper, take it to a nursery, share it with a contractor, or use it to plan your own DIY phasing. We have no stake in how you implement it.
Who We Are
"We are designers and project managers who figured out how to apply those skills to your outdoor environment. That's what brings us joy."

Hyoon Environments is Stacy McCann and Jeremiah Dapkey. Between us we have decades of experience in creative production, content systems, 3D design, and technical pipeline management — none of it in a landscape architecture firm. We're not licensed contractors. We're not licensed landscapers.

What we are is a design intelligence layer. We produce the plan. We use technology that was previously reserved for large-scale architectural projects — and we've made it accessible and affordable for homeowners who want to make better decisions about their outdoor spaces. What you do with the plan, and when, is entirely yours.

Bainbridge Island & Kitsap County — home base
We live and work here. We know the plant ecology, the microclimate, the nurseries, and the install crews worth recommending. The designs we produce reflect this island's specific conditions — not a generalized PNW template.
Native plants are the foundation, not the selling point
Every design begins with what grows here — plants suited to your soil, your light, and your island's ecology. This isn't a sustainability checkbox. It's how you get a garden that actually works without constant intervention.
We'll refer install crews when you're ready
When it's time to implement, we can point you toward install crews we trust. We earn a small referral fee and you get a recommendation we'd stand behind — from people who've seen our work and know how to read our plans.

Why Start Here

Island communities
are our natural
first market.

Bainbridge Island and Kitsap Peninsula homeowners have a particular relationship with their land. There's a strong native plant culture, a commitment to sustainability, and a community identity rooted in the natural environment of the Pacific Northwest.

Word of mouth travels within an island community. A great project on your block gets talked about at the ferry dock and the garden club. We're building here first, on purpose, with people we know.

The plant palette we know best — Sword Fern, Salal, Red Flowering Currant, Oregon Grape, native grasses — is this palette. We're not adapting a service built somewhere else. This is where it was built.
